The letter of the agroindustrial Club France - Ukraine - number 11 - March, 2007
Leader
In campaigns, they are hardly interested in the agitation of the political circles of the capital. By going up and down lands, just a step away from the airport of Borispol, in spite of the speculative pressure which suffers so quickly (here the next peripheral should pass, and there is not an available hectare anymore), the agricultural firms prepare seedling with care. The renewal of the equipment in comparison with last year is striking. Leaving towards Tcherkassy, where the tchernozem is the most thick and the best watering, the huge plots, black and clean, delimited by hedges windbreak, recommended more than a century ago by the founders of the science of soil, make think of a large-scale gardening, so much job is there well-manicured, regular, definite. More in the south, towards Kirovograd, while they go up to the dry steppe, and while the tchernozem loses in power, care is not less big. The small patches of land of the farms of the population, and the big plots of agroholdings form the same draughtboard of lands prepared to produce. In the first ones, near houses, they ploughed, with a horse or a small tractor, hers , rolled, seeded, raked over with all members of the family or with neighbours. In the huge plain, where the earth stretches as far as the eye can see in a landscape the ladder of which they struggle to find, were calculated passages, doses, allers-et-venues of dumpsters to supply the trains of tools of minimal job or of "not job". Wheats rather crossed well the winter. Wheats of soya are of course more green. The new agricultural businessmen, go up and down their domains, record data, mobilise the agronomical analyses performed in every plot, sometimes in each of the hundreds of "pays" which compose them as though they had years of practice. The powerful devices are linked up by GPS, and they begin being interested in computers loaded to adjust the doses of fertilising or of products of treatment to needs: industrial agriculture is not necessarily the least "lasting (more ) Les puissants engins sont reli s par GPS, et on commence s int resser aux ordinateurs embarqu s pour ajuster les doses de fertilisant ou de produits de traitement aux besoins : l agriculture industrielle n est pas n cessairement la moins durable (more )
